The Daramu program is a specialist Aboriginal Youth Justice Program funded by the National Indigenous Australians Agency. Since 2009, providing a range of culturally responsive services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people either at risk of criminal behaviour or in contact with the Police, Courts or Juvenile Justice NSW.

The program aims to deter clients aged 12–18 from ongoing contact with Juvenile and Criminal Justice. Clients are from the Blacktown Local Government area, and provides 12-24 weeks of Intensive Case Management Support.

Each client is assigned an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Caseworker to support building connections, modelling positive behaviour and supporting each client’s journey to living safely within the community, free from criminal activity.

The Daramu team delivers workshops that aim to build self-esteem in clients, and assist in finding a unique sense of meaning and purpose.
