Healing can be a complex process. Marist180 gives children and young people the support they need to recover from negative experiences and grow in hope and happiness.
Marist180’s Residential Care program provides trauma-informed, therapeutic services for children and young people. When individuals have experienced early abuse and neglect, a foster family environment may not suit their unique needs. With residential care, they can experience a stable, safe environment while receiving continuous support from Marist180 staff members who are trained in a specialised set of approaches and technique to help them recover. Once the children and young people start to heal, they are supported to engage in school and vocational activities so they can make a successful transition to independent living. The Marist180 residential care staff members are trained by Knightlamp, an organisation that specialises in delivering care to individuals who have experienced childhood trauma. Further assistance is provided by Marist180 clinical specialists who ensure staff reflect on their experiences and practices and also develop individual behaviour support plans for young people.
