Our recruitment process

Step 1

Start looking

Check out our current job vacancies online. If you don’t find a position available in the role you’re looking for, you can register your interest by sending us an email. You can also choose to receive email notifications when a role you’re interested in becomes available.

Step 2

Apply online

Once you’ve found a vacancy, apply using our online application form. Take the time to carefully read what we’re looking for and ensure your responses demonstrate how you’re a great fit for the role and our organisation. Make sure your cover letter and resume are up to date.

Step 3

We review

A member of our People Strategies Team will review your application once it is received. Every application is reviewed separately. A team member will compare your application to the position’s criteria to see if you are what we’re looking for.

Step 4

We’ll call

If we think you could be a great addition to our team, we will call you to learn more about your background and experience and to confirm if you’re well suited to the role. You’ll be notified via email if you have been approved to move to the next step.

Step 5

Let’s meet

We will organise an interview – either face to face or over the telephone if you don’t live nearby. The interview will be behavioural-based, offering you the chance to demonstrate your skills and experience. You can also ask us questions. For roles that focus on working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) communities, we aim to have at least one ATSI person on the panel.

Step 6

We’ll run some checks

We will tell you if we decide to contact your two referees. They must be people you’ve previously reported to – not friends or colleagues. Please check they are comfortable with being contacted. You will also be required to undergo various checks, including a National Police Check and Working with Children Check. A person’s criminal history does not automatically exclude them from a role and will be evaluated case by case.

Step 7

Let’s work together

If you are successful, you will receive a verbal offer of employment. Once accepted, we will issue your contract and relevant paperwork, which need to be returned before you start. During your first few weeks there will be a lot to learn. Our onboarding program will support you along the way.

If you are unsuccessful, we will call you to let you know. But don’t worry: it won’t affect the outcome of any other applications – current or future – to work in other positions at Marist180.
